Zanzibar Islands Community Fisheries Governance and Conflict Management

Talking Transformation designed and led the Swahili language traning programme on governance and conflict management for officers from the Department of Fisheries and community elders and members of the village local marine management committees.

Working to support the ongoing programme by local NGO, Mwambao, an organisation and fisheries learning network based in Stone Town on Zanzibar’s Unguja island, that works with communities and other stakeholders in Pemba and Unguja on octopus management as an entry point for collaborative community management of coral reefs to build community resilience and improve livelihoods.
